Work Life is a biblically integrated job preparedness curriculum that empowers low-income people with the skills, character, and relationships to find work – and flourish in it. In the process, people at all income levels are challenged and changed by walking in authentic relationships with those of different socioeconomic backgrounds. Transformative relationships are at the center of Work Life’s success. This is not just a jobs readiness course; it is about God’s design for work and our lives.

In this course, we discuss:

  • Roadblocks to employment and how to overcome them
  • Our strengths and abilities
  • Workplace culture and how to thrive in it
  • How to create a great resume and other tools for landing a decent job

Volunteer Opportunities!

We have several volunteer opportunities to consider if you would like to be involved.

Facilitator
Facilitators of the Work Life curriculum use a caring and professional approach that sets the stage for mutual learning and create an atmosphere conducive to student interaction and participation. They consistently model what is expected of students, work with Allies to ensure that students learn and apply Work Life principles, and help every student move closer to graduation.

Ally (Mentorship)
An ally is much like a mentor, but the relationship is lateral and of mutual respect. Committed, solid allies are foundational for a successful Work Life program. Allies are the primary long-term point of contact with participants during and after the course is over.

Child Care
Volunteers for childcare support our students attending the courses by providing a safe, fun, and caring learning environment for their children.

Hospitality
Assists with the preparation to serve catered meals that will be provided for volunteers, students, and staff.

Preparation Teams
These teams support the preparation of the dining area, classrooms, and childcare area that will be utilized each Sunday evening.
